Meal Details:
Thaw completely (we recommend thawing in the fridge for 2 days.) DO NOT THAW THE MIXED VEGGIES. For this meal we suggest browning the beef prior to adding to the crockpot. Heat a fry pan to med heat. Add beef to the pan and brown all sides of the beef for 2-3 minutes per side. (You are not cooking the beef fully, just browning it.) Place contents of sauce zipper bag and the browned beef in 3.5 litre slowcooker. (Cooking time will have to be adjusted if you are using a different size of slowcooker.) Mix the beef and sauce together well. Cook on low for 4-5 hours or high for 2-3 hours. 30 minutes prior to serving, add the FROZEN mixed veggies into the slowcooker and mix well. At this time, also start cooking the rice. Serve the beef mixture on top of the hot rice and enjoy!! INSTANT POT INSTRUCTIONS: Thaw meal for best results. Put 2 tsp of oil in the Instant Pot. Sauté thawed BEEF for 2-3 minutes until browned. You can skip this step if using frozen meat (frozen will take longer to come to pressure and will take longer to cook). Add sauce bag and additional 2 Tbsp of hot water for a 2-3 (or ¼ cup for a 4-6) and cook on Meat setting for 10 minutes and QR. You can begin cooking your rice according to directions on package as soon as your timer is set. Once the beef is cooked, stir the meal and add the frozen veggies. Cook on Sauté setting until the veggies are warmed through. Serve beef with rice and sauce. Enjoy!
(SLOWCOOKER) Lean AAA sirloin strips are flavoured with brown sugar, apple juice, ginger, garlic and then Asian vegetables are added at the end. This delicious mixture is then served on a bed of hot rice.(This meal is a Chinese dish that was said to be created by a Chinese cook who worked on Bourbon Street - so it doesn't contain any actual bourbon.) Dairy & egg free. GLUTEN FREE. IP friendly.
