Slowcooker/Stovetop
Thaw completely (we recommend thawing in the fridge for 1-2 days). Cooking time may have to be adjusted depending on your size of slow cooker - the smaller the slow cooker the better. Slow Cooker - Wash and cut the potatoes in half and place in the slow cooker. Add the onion mixture to the slow cooker, along with 3 ½ cups of water (or 7 cups for a 4-6). (Add a little water to the bag to get all the ingredients from the side of the bag.) Stir all the contents and cook on high for 2 - 2½ hours or on low for 3-4 hours. Add the other liquid bag (that contains ham) to the slow cooker and stir well. Continue to cook for an additional 30 minutes (on high) or 1 hour (on low). Start preparing biscuits as per instructions on bag. Serve chowder hot with biscuits. Enjoy! Stovetop - Wash and cut the potatoes in half and place in a large pot. Add the onion mixture to the pot, along with 3 ½ cups of water (or 7 cups for a 4-6). (Add a little water to the bag to get all the ingredients from the side of the bag.) Stir all the contents and bring to a boil and then simmer on low for 30-45 minutes. Add the other liquid bag (that contains ham) to the pot and stir well. Continue to cook for an additional 30 minutes on low. Start preparing biscuits as per instructions on bag. Serve chowder hot with biscuits. Enjoy!
